Home > Barn-Houses > Floorplans > Standard vs Kneewall Loft Comparison

These drawings compare a 24' x 24' Barn-House that has a standard frame with one that has a kneewall. The kneewall option adds 18" to the overall height of the building and increases the amount of useable space on the second (loft) floor. If the building is 32' long or more the bathroom can be enlarged to accommodate three fixtures (full bath).

A kneewall in a 24' Barn-House provides 24% more usable loft space, enough for a half bath opposite the stair. A full bath will fit in the same location in a 32' or larger Barn-House.
