HOW TO ORDER

Ordering from Shelter-Kit is easy. Print the Order Form/Purchase Agreement (HTML or PDF file) then, following the instructions below, fill out the Order Form with your desired items and mail it along with the retainer to the address on the Order Form. We encourage you to talk with us at any time during your planning process.

    Planning and ordering suggestions

      • Talk with your local building or zoning officials to see whether you will be permitted to build on the site you have chosen. Ask if there are unusual local conditions such as high snow, wind or seismic loads. We can usually make design changes to meet higher load requirements. Please contact us for information.
      • Obtain copies of all permit applications. Determine what, if any, technical information or drawings the building officials will require. In some cases, a printed copy of the specifications page will be sufficient. Frequently, floor plans and elevation drawings will be required. For an additional fee of $575, which is deductible from your building order if placed within six months, Shelter-Kit will provide a drawing package that will meet the requirements of many building departments, and includes floor plans and elevations. If required, we can also provide detailed engineer-stamped drawings and calculations for all 50 states, and most Canadian Provinces, for $750. Both of these drawing packages are copyrighted, and may only be used for the construction of one building, purchased from Shelter-Kit.
      • Check our website pages for your favorite kit, to see what sizes and options are available. You will find pages with prices, specifications, a photo gallery, floorplans, etc.
      • Make a list of what is important for you in your new building.  You can either draw up a sketch of your rough floorplan, or contact us to discuss your building needs. For your convenience, we have provided blank floorplans for our building kits for planning purposes. If you wish, you can print a copy (it may be necessary to set your printer to horizontal printing to get the entire plan on one sheet). If you choose to draw a draft floorplan, mail, e-mail or fax the plan to us and we will get back to you with our thoughts and ideas. We would be glad to work with you throughout your planning process.
      • Once you have decided that you want to move ahead with your purchase,  print and complete an Order Form/Purchase Agreement (HTML) and send it to us with the 10% retainer. We will acknowledge receipt of your Order and Retainer by return mail. Your order will be placed in our production schedule to meet your requested delivery date and a Construction Manual will be sent to you. If you are unable to view or print the Order Form/Purchase Agreement or if you have any questions call, write, e-mail or fax us.

      Payment Schedule

      We are willing to work with your bank to comply with their loan disbursement schedule.

      Retainer (10% of total price, non-refundable)
      Due with your order.

      Deposit
      Two-thirds of balance, due not later than four weeks prior to the shipping date. 

      Final Payment
      Due in Tilton, NH five business days prior to the shipping date.
